If It Might Be

If it might be I’m losing everything at least I won’t lose you

Draw my living from a loving cup and I cling to you

Snaking light curving ‘round a tree–will you hold on to me too?

Night might be empty, but it’s next to you

If it might be I’m losing everything, no I won’t blame you

Rhythm and pain is a dangerous game, I play it blindly through

Up or down, until we get found out, until death I do

Midnight is alright when it’s true

The garden opens, but I won’t step in

It’s a pissing shame, but I’m finding my way

I love the whole world–how it looks from far away

When the time is right, I shall uncover the light

If it might be I’m losing everything suppose I lose you too

Fear for the lord after I have gone, what will the good Lord do?

In my flesh and in my blood, it was me who carried you

Life is a mirror sailing out of view

The garden opens but I won’t step in

It’s a pissing shame, but I’m finding my way

I love the whole world–looking down from far away

When the time is right, I shall uncover the light
